Looking for a new best friend? Are your clothes "too dry?" Do you often wish you had to change your shirt two, three times a day to maintain a slobber-free appearance? If so, you might have a Saint Bernard shaped hole in your heart. Invest in some snorkel gear and plenty of giant baby bibbs and meet Emma.

Emma is a skinny 120 lb, 3-year-old female St Bernard who came to us last month when she was rescued from an abusive breeder. She’s absolutely the sweetest girl, who wants to be with her people all the time and is very happy with her new indoor, air-conditioned life. She doesn’t seem to know what to do with toys yet, but is really curious about them. Her hobbies include couch cuddles, sloppy kisses and taking long walks with squeaky toys.

Emma is crate trained, playful and is great with other dogs. She seems to ignore cats (which they appreciate). She loves kids but would probably do best with age 10+ because she’s very clumsy and her vision isn't great. The vet thinks this is due to her droopy eyelids, rather than a problem with her eyes themselves. She bumps into furniture, walls, parked cars, etc, and would accidentally plow a toddler/ small child over while attempting to get hugs or steal snacks that are at "Emma height." More than anything, she is really looking for that special someone who will want her to be their fuzzy shadow. She would be happiest in a home where she wouldn't be alone for long periods of time.

She is living with a foster family now, who’s working to teach her basic commands and teaching leash manners. She tries very hard and is so eager to make people happy. We hope to find her the perfect family who has previous big drooly dog experience, or won’t be put off by the deluge. We’re going to be very honest about this because her heart is even bigger than her huge paws and she will be crushed if she's rejected and returned. Emma is up-to-date on vaccinations and will be spayed this week, which is the last step to preparing her for her home.
